Valley County Tourism Creates New Grant Program

In an effort to create opportunities for tourism attraction, Valley County Tourism recently added to their Destination Development Fund Grant.  This grant program has previously been utilized for capital improvement projects to nonprofit and public entities creating tourism opportunities. Previous recipients include Valley County Museum’s roof project, Village of Arcadia’s dock project for the Middle Loup River, The Gathering Place’s window repair project, Ord Veteran’s Group’s North Loup River Water Trail dock and restroom project, and The Golden Husk’s historic marquee repair.  

The new addition to the Destination Development Fund Grant add entertainment as an eligible project.  This item was added in order to allow nonprofit and public entities access event entertainment to attract more visitors.  Eligible entertainment costs include live music and performance acts. This grant program can fund up to 50% of entertainment fees, with a maximum award of $3,000. 

The Tourism Advisory Committee also recently awarded the second Traveler Attraction Grant to Loup Valley Ag Society to assist with advertising for the 2024 Valley County Fair.  This grant program assists nonprofit and public entities in advertising outside of a 50 mile radius of Valley County. This can include radio ads, print material, social media ads, print ads, and more. Applicants can receive up to half of total project costs, with a maximum award of $2,000.
